Rainer Böhm (23 February 1952 – 21 May 2013) was a German composer. Life Born in Berlin, Böhm studied composition and conducting at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler”. Afterwards he was a master student for composition at the Academy of Arts, Berlin. In 1984 he became musical director at the Berliner Ensemble. He worked with theatre directors such as Heiner Müller, , Claus Peymann and Manfred Wekwerth. He also wrote several scores for the documentary film director Volker Koepp. Böhm died in Berlin at the age of 61.
